AOSfcare Mums for Memory

Be a Friend to Someone with Dementia In 2026

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s—a number we expect to almost double by 2050. Every one of these people is a family member, loved one, friend and member of their community. A dementia diagnosis impacts us all.

Here in Moore County and surrounding areas, AOS & Friends Care is working to meet that growing need. We provide free support, resources, and services to individuals and families navigating dementia—helping them find care, connection, and dignity.

Founded by Amy Natt and John Barrett, our mission is inspired by a simple question: “What can I do to help?”—the words John’s wife, Mary Anne, continued to live by even after her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

People often ask what they can do to help. Supporting AOS & Friends Care’s 11th Annual Mums for Memory ™ fundraiser is a great option, providing an opportunity to be a friend to someone with dementia.

Helping is easy. We offer sponsorship opportunities and accept individual donations. With each $30 donation, you’ll receive a beautiful purple mum—a symbol of Alzheimer’s awareness—that can be dedicated in honor or memory of someone special. Your dedication will be recognized in our program and Memory Wall. All donated mums will be delivered to local care facilities.

Dementia is growing—and so is the power of a caring community.

Thank you for helping us be a friend to someone with dementia.
